The MS Paul Gauguin was designed specifically for sailing French Polynesia year-round with Staterooms to accommodate a maximum of 332 guests and guest crew ratio of 1 to 1.5. She offers an extension of the informal, relaxing environment of the islands, with Paul Gauguin's' inter pretation of sixstar service, comfort and luxury. Ship's time spent on each island is exceptionally longer stay than most ships visiting the area allow, and is especially geared for the traveler that wants to be independent while still having the option of experience with other passengers or pre designed private or group activities and excursions.
Spacious staterooms (Over 70% with private balconies), a waters ports marina, a choice of 3 single seating dining venues and an extensive spa are among her sixstar attributes. The ship features 3 great restaurants, Le Grill, Le Toile & La Veranda with floor to ceiling windows, indoor and al fresco seating. The atmosphere aboard radiates warmth and informality. And her beloved troupe of Gauguines part cruise staff, part enter tainers, part storytellers, add the unique personality of French Polynesia to every cruise.
There is no group of islands in the world more romantic and beautiful than the Society Islands. They inspired a mutiny on the infamous Bounty. They captured the imagination of Paul Gauguin and have been immortalized by some of the world's great writers from Herman Melville, Robert Louis Stevenson and James Michener to Somerset Maugham. From the Jagged peaks crown emerald rain forests of the Society Islands and Marquesas to the endless turquoise waters and lagoons of the Tuamotu atolls, the Paul Gauguin offers one of the best cruise experiences of a lifetime.
The Paul Gauguin's unique water sports marina unfolds from the back of the ship and offers everything from kayaking to scuba diving with the best dive staff aboard any ship. Water sports are a highlight of the Polynesian experience, and the MS Paul Gauguin is constructed to take full advantage of these irresistible waters, with accessibility to ports and adventures that other ships can't offer. The ship's small footprint enables it to navigate lagoons that larger ships would never dare to enter. And our retractable, onboard Water sports Marina brings you down to sea level, where you can hop aboard a windsurfer, launch a kayak, or embark on our Zodiac for optional diving adventures.
Even if you've never been diving, you can take advantage of our onboard SCUBA lessons. The m/s Paul Gauguin is the only luxury ship in French Polynesia to offer PADI certification onboard for novice divers as well as classes at all levels, from snorkeling to advanced scuba diving tech niques, supervised by our own staff of PADI dive masters. For the convenience of our guests, all necessary equipment, including an air compres sor to refill scuba tanks, is onboard.
